In an attempt to keep these exploratory ideas accessible in this forum, we have purposefully not integrated academic citations, and provide a fluid bibliography as a supplement.  We have benefited greatly from the thoughtful research of many others— as we have tried to use their insightful and praiseworthy work to guide us on our journey.
